Six TCU students across five colleges have received the nationally competitive Gilman Scholarship, which supports a summer or semester-long experience abroad.

The culminating event of Roach Honors Week is the Roach Honors Banquet, an evening dedicated to celebrating academic excellence. This formal dinner brings together Roach Honors College students, faculty, and staff to recognize outstanding student achievements. During the banquet, students are honored with scholarships and awards, including the announcement of the Boller Competition winner and the presentation of the Professor of the Year award.

Eighteen students in the John V. Roach Honors College spent their spring break on Cultural Routes: Berlin. A study abroad expereince for first-year Roach Honors College students. Guided by Assistant Dean Marie Martinez and Wassenich Family Dean Ron Pitcock, Ph.D., participants studied the sights, sounds, history and culture of Germany’s capital. Throughout this experience, students set out to visit historical sights like the Berlin Wall, the Reichstag, the site of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp and other historical places aimed at challenging their understanding of the philanthropic, political and religious events that shaped Berlin. Using the city as a traveling classroom, students were able to embed themselves into an environment that enriched their understanding of the past and its connection to the present.

Students in the John V. Roach Honors College Community Service student led organization are spending their time volunteering across Dallas-Fort Worth. In total they have logged over 458 hours for the 2024-2025 academic school year.

TCU was awarded a $60,000 Interfaith America Faith and Health Campus Grant. This grant brings faculty from the John V. Roach Honors College, Pre-Health Institute, and the Department of Religion.

The Fogelson Honors Forum, hosted by the John V. Roach Honors College is a distinguished lecture series that brings together students, faculty, and the Fort Worth community for discussions with influential leaders. This year's Fogelson Honors Forum speaker was world renowned chef and humanitarian José Andrés. José shared his journey, philosophies and impact, leaving a profound impression on attendees.

The 2024 Fogelson Honors Forum hosted by the John V. Roach Honors college is a distinguished lecture event that brings together students, faculty and the Fort Worth community for discussions with influential leaders. This years speaker is Jose Andres, world renowned Chef and humanitarian.

The John V. Roach Honors College offered a new course designed for first-year students titled The Rhetoric of Gratitude. Students in the course explored the meaning and impact of gratitude on individuals and communities.

Emma Sullivan is a senior biology major and Clark Society Scholar, who is dedicated to improving health equity and addressing food insecurity.
